Ramakalmedu

Ramakkalmedu is a panoramic hill station in Idukki district of Kerala state. The place is noted for its panoramic beauty and numerous windmills. The place stands tall in the Western Ghats at a height of 3,500 ft (1,100 m) above sea level. The ecosystem of the area consists by sporadic bamboo forests and largely of grass land Shola forest type.

Perumbalam, just 20 kilometres away from Kochi is a small island in Alappuzha district which was formed more than 1000 years ago. It can be said as an island lost in time as the total land area shrunk by the passage of time. With a population of just 10000 odd, Perumbalam is a very small island of 16 sqkms and a beautiful place to be visited. Though it is a small piece of land situated in Vembanad lake, it boasts of about 30 temples and tops the list of highest numbers PSC applicants from a place in Kerala. The only transportation means are Jhankar(to carry cars & trucks) and ferry. It is also a place which don’t have a police station. It is believed that Tipu Sultan on his conquering spree had set his feet in this this small island.
